I had a 256gb lexar 1000x memory card broken that had two bga152 nw743 micron flash chips. Since i couldnt find a memory card that was the same ( the pcb had different test points than the 256gb bga152. most of the other 256gb donors i got were bga132 and some of them only had 1 chip. i bought usb udisks, flash programmers all kinds of stuff that did not work. I bought a bunch of 128gb 64gb ones two looking for a way to practice and see if i could do the transplant and see it would work. one day i decied to try to solder two of these bga152 chips (2x128gb) to a board with (2x32gb). I was under the impression from the flash chip programmers that you had to program all controllers for the specific chip, ther is no lexar mp tool for these. I looked at the one chip pcbs and noticed they only had a single jumper connected where the 2 chip pcbs had 3 jumpers connected. im guessing there is a jumper that enables each of the chips to let it know if its single or double and whic socket to read from. im pretty sure you can use a board from any of the lexar 1000x sd cards as a donor agnostic of the chip CE count and capacity. just configure the jumpers the same way they are on the broken board onto the donor board. I hope this information helps someone recover some data, This whole process took about 3 years to figure out. when btc was 200$ i bought a few and put the keys on the SD card and it broke. Preventing me from selling them. For that i am truely greatful. I brought the card to a 2 places and they looked at it and said they didnt want to mess with it. Probably because there is absolutely no information anywhere about the PCB schematic and no information on what the control is and its configuration. im glad they didnt take my drive an use it to experiment they were professional enough to only take jobs they were positive they wouldnt loose the data.

I have a similar laptop and I'm in the process of wiping the data. I can wipe the main device but there are apparently 2 non-writable boot partitions that external chroot environments can't touch. From what I gather these 4MB partitions only hold firmware and boot device code and the risk of having personal information on them is exceptionally-low, considering dd can't touch them in a live-usb session. Would that be about accurate in your experience?

Thx for the vid. These data solutions companies are very exploitative I can buy 2 new phones for what they charge. so I've decided to DIY this, these vids are really helpful. Aand from I've been told the phone will be rendered unusable after the chip has been taken out, is it true? I think 9/10 it can be soldered back onto the motherboard as long as the job was done properly. I hope. With the new Microsoft Surface Pro X, they at least went back to removable SSD. Which is even user-accessible. I don't think they would have had to compromise the design too much by making the SSD modular in this device as well.

this happened to me yesterday. i have to admit ive had this for more than 10 years, but now my important data, some of backup photos and videos that are important to me are inaccessible :( im not sure if i should give it to a person to recover my data, or try it myself. im a technician but I've never worked on drives.

how much does this job cost? i have the same sd card and it just went kaput the moment i took it out of the camera and into my macbook.

the switches probably just need cleaning with deoxit.
